Welcome to the non-profit Heartwood Folk School Society of Pender Island, BC.

Our mission is to teach practical, joyful, earth-caring and community-strengthening skills, to adults and also younger folks. This includes food growing, sustainable energy, traditional arts and skills, and related building initiatives. 

The Heartwood Board is a diverse group of Pender Island growers and makers who are committed to helping cultivate a sustainable and self-sufficient island community.
